ICBC Coverage For Chiropractic Care

Motor vehicle accidents never happen at convenient times. Not only can they cause significant injury but they often result in unwanted stress and anxiety as you try to navigate the aftermath of your accident. Trying to deal with all of this while in pain can make matters even more stressful. But we are here to help!

How does ICBC health coverage work?

If you were involved in a motor vehicle accident and have ICBC coverage, you are entitled to healthcare benefits to help treat any injuries as a result of your accident.

Whether you are at fault or not, you are pre-authorized for 25 chiropractic sessions within the first 12-weeks from the date of your accident.

How soon can treatment start?

You can begin treatment with our chiropractor as soon as you have reported your accident to ICBC. You do not need approval from your claim specialist and you do not need a referral from your medical doctor as long as it has been less than 12-weeks since your accident. If it has been more than 12-weeks, you will need to contact your ICBC claim specialist for approval prior to starting treatment.

How much will the chiropractic treatments cost?

ICBC will cover the following amounts for Chiropractic treatment:

  • Initial Assessment: $108/visit

  • Follow-up Visits: $59/visit

Since ICBC does not cover the full amount for clinic fees, patients are responsible for the remaining balance for each visit.

We will bill ICBC for you and they will pay the clinic directly. This means less stress for you so you can focus on getting better.

What information do you need to get started?

All we require to get started is your name, date of birth, claim number, adjustor’s name and contact information so we can confirm your coverage.

How can chiropractic treatment help after an accident?

Complaints including whiplash, strains/sprains, headaches, low back pain and concussions are common after motor vehicle accidents. Chiropractic treatment can be beneficial early on to address pain and dysfunction following your accident and prevent chronic issues from developing.

Here at Second Summit, we know how stressful dealing with the aftermath of a car accident can be. Our goal is to take some of that stress off your plate and provide the professional, thorough care you need to feel better and get back to your normal life.
